About ReadAloudly

ReadAloudly is a free, browser-based text-to-speech reader. Paste any text, choose a voice, and press play — your browser reads it aloud, in dozens of languages, with no account and no limits.

What ReadAloudly is

ReadAloudly is a simple online tool that turns written text into spoken audio. There is nothing to install and no sign-up: you open the page, paste your text, pick a voice and speed, and listen. It's useful for proofreading your own writing, resting your eyes, studying pronunciation, or turning long articles into something you can listen to while doing other things.

Why we built it

The idea came from a simple frustration: wanting to listen to an article aloud and finding that most read-aloud tools required creating an account or paying a subscription. We thought a clean, fast, no-login reader should just exist — so we built one and made it free for everyone, in as many languages as the browser supports.

How it works

ReadAloudly uses the Web Speech API built into modern browsers, so the reading happens locally on your device. Your text is never uploaded to a server. Long texts that normally make speech tools freeze are split into sentences and read one after another, with the current sentence highlighted so you can follow along.

How it stays free

ReadAloudly is supported by a small number of non-intrusive ads, which lets us keep the tool completely free and unlimited. We do not sell your data — your text stays in your browser. If you have feedback or ideas, we'd love to hear from you on our contact page.
